Global drug development, clinical development and regulatory strategy. His consulting practice, Chaikin Associates LLC, focuses upon:
  • International drug development/regulatory strategies for new chemical entities and biologics across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Preparation of drug development plans to secure regulatory approvals in major markets, such as the United States, European Union and  Japan
  • The development of exploratory drug development strategies incorporating appropriate biomarkers for proof of concept studies to enhance asset valuation
  • Representation of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies at regulatory agency meetings in the United States and Europe

  • Dr. Chaikin spent over 30 years in Pharma R&D and was most recently Executive Vice President for Drug Development at Kyowa Pharmaceuticals and the Head of International Drug Development for Kyowa Hakko Kogyo
  • During his career in industry, Dr. Chaikin played a pivotal role in the development, registration and successful commercialization of many compounds including: Lovenox, Taxotere, Campto, Azmacort HFA, Intal HFA, Nasocort AQ, Procardia XL, Glucotrol XL, Myocet, Amaryl, Altace, Ebastine, Synercid and Serzone
  • A Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology
  • Author of over 70 manuscripts and abstracts
  • He is the 2013 recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology Nathaniel Kwitt Distinguished Service Award
